DIGIHIRE PERSPECTIVES / EDITORIAL DRAFT / 14 OCTOBER 2026
Start with the outcome
Before choosing keywords, describe what the person will need to accomplish. Separate essential capabilities from preferences. A precise outcome gives sourcing teams a useful starting point and helps candidates understand the opportunity.
Agree what evidence looks like
For every essential capability, define how it can be demonstrated. A relevant project, work sample or structured conversation can provide richer context than a list of technologies. Keep the assessment proportionate to the role.
Make the constraints explicit
Location, working arrangements, availability, compensation boundaries and decision ownership influence the search. Resolve these early so candidates and hiring teams can make informed choices.
Close the feedback loop
A hiring brief should improve as the team learns. Review why profiles are progressing or stalling and change the brief deliberately, rather than allowing criteria to drift between interviews.
Good talent operations make the next step clearer—for the business and for the person. All perspectives
