DIGIHIRE PERSPECTIVES / EDITORIAL DRAFT / 14 OCTOBER 2026
Describe the assignment
Specify what needs to be delivered, where the work takes place, the expected duration and the capabilities required. Distinguish a temporary demand peak from a continuing capability gap.
Make ownership explicit
Identify the employing entity, reporting relationship, payroll responsibility and escalation route. The agreement must reflect the actual operating arrangement and applicable obligations.
Plan the first week
Equipment, system access, safety orientation and a named point of contact shape the start of an assignment. Give each action an owner before the joining date.
Plan the transition too
Agree how extensions, replacements and assignment closure will be handled. Review access removal, handover requirements and open issues as part of the transition.
